Tracking progress and mobilizing regional strategies to advance the SDGs after the Pact for the Future
As the HLPF unfolds in this complex political climate, attention is turning to the long-term reform agenda driven by the Pact for the Future and the UN80 Initiative, which aim to strengthen multilateralism and accelerate progress toward the SDGs amid the most serious UN liquidity crisis at the UN in over a generation. These reform efforts will feature prominently during the HLPF’s three-day ministerial segment, held jointly with the ECOSOC High-Level Segment under the theme “UN@80: Catalyzing Change for Sustainable Development.”
Following the HLPF morning plenary session on 22 July spotlighting regional SDG implementation, the C4UN side event will build on the discussion by highlighting civil society-led analysis, regional strategies, and practical monitoring tools—such as the Pact Monitoring Survey Interim Report, Pact Implementation Dashboard, and UN80 Monitoring Framework—to help accelerate SDG progress in the follow up to Pact for the Future.
