SUMMARY:Tracking progress and mobilizing regional strategies to advance the SDGs after the Pact for the Future
DESCRIPTION:As the HLPF unfolds in this complex political climate\, attention is turning to the long-term reform agenda driven by the Pact for the Future and the UN80 Initiative\, which aim to strengthen multilateralism and accelerate progress toward the SDGs amid the most serious UN liquidity crisis at the UN in over a generation. These reform efforts will feature prominently during the HLPF’s three-day ministerial segment\, held jointly with the ECOSOC High-Level Segment under the theme “UN@80: Catalyzing Change for Sustainable Development.” \nFollowing the HLPF morning plenary session on 22 July spotlighting regional SDG implementation\, the C4UN side event will build on the discussion by highlighting civil society-led analysis\, regional strategies\, and practical monitoring tools—such as the Pact Monitoring Survey Interim Report\, Pact Implementation Dashboard\, and UN80 Monitoring Framework—to help accelerate SDG progress in the follow up to Pact for the Future. \nDate: Tuesday\, 22 July 2025\nTime: 1:15 PM – 2:45 PM EST\nLocation: Baha’i International Community  UN Office\, 866 UN Plaza\, Suite 120\, New York\nHybrid registration required: https://bit.ly/4kpNw0H \nREGISTER NOW \n* Light lunch will be served.

SUMMARY:Future of Global North-Global South cooperation in a post-aid world
DESCRIPTION:From 3-4 September 2025\, Peace Direct invites local activists\, changemakers\, organizers\, healers\, and peacebuilders to a two-day online conversation on the ‘Future of Global North-Global South cooperation in a post-aid world’. \nThe January 2025 USAID stop-work order has disrupted global development efforts\, closing hundreds of projects and threatening vital services\, particularly in the Global South. While collective responses have mostly been reactive and Global North-driven\, many in the Global South see this crisis as an opportunity to challenge entrenched power imbalances in the sector. \nUsing Platform4Dialogue\, the consultation will bring together Global South actors and their allies to reflect on recent adaptations\, explore transformative opportunities\, and reimagine equitable collaboration between the Global South and Global North in reshaping the development\, humanitarian\, and peacebuilding system. \nThe findings emerging from the consultation will be validated during an in-person gathering of Global South-based peacebuilders organised by Peace Direct on 13-17 October in Nairobi. \nPlease complete the form below by Friday 29th of August\, 2025.\nRegister to participate in the consultation here
